Strengths Narrative
The CliftonStrengths for Students inventory is a 30-minute self-assessment developed by Gallup, designed to help people discover their natural talents. According to Gallup’s research, the key to personal development is to fully understand how to apply your greatest talents and strengths in your everyday life.
Step 1: List your top five CliftonStrengths for Students talent themes.
Step 2: Using the What? So What? Now What? model of reflection, write a reflection of 500 words describing a recent and specific experience when at least two of your CliftonStrengths played an important role. Your focus should be on articulating the experience through your strengths, not just simply a historical account of events.
Include the following in your reflection:
- Clear examples of how at least two of your strengths were present in the experience
- Insights on how the experience demonstrates significant strength development
Specific goals related to areas for continued growth in any of your strength(s), especially as they connect with your future pursuits at UC (academic, professional, leadership, etc.)
